Our founder, Rowland Woods, is a former diplomat and international trade economist and former Honorary Consul of Belgium. He lived and worked in Europe for over 20 years and has also spent time working in South-East Asia and the Pacific. For the last 15 years he has been practising as a specialist immigration and refugee lawyer. He is a former member of the New Zealand Law Society’s National Immigration and Refugee Law Committee and former chair of the Wellington Immigration and Refugee Law Committee of the New Zealand Law Society.
Kar-yen Partington, also a director of the firm, specialises in refugee law and is fast becoming recognised as one of New Zealand’s top young lawyers in this field. Karyen also has extensive general immigration law experience. She has a background which includes commercial and employment Law as well as an academic background in politics. She is well-equipped to provide both refugee and immigration advice, particularly to clients from Asia.
